      The Objectives of the Association is to work for the advancement and improvement of the Meat Processing industry by encouraging and fostering high ethical standards of good business practices in the industry and the cooperation of all engaged in the industry by the interchange of ideas and business methods as a means of increasing efficiency and usefulness of the industry to the general public.

      The organizations main purpose is working for the benefit and protection of small and medium sized meat firms. This Association, with its enviable record of accomplishments, speaks effectively for the independent meat plant operators in the regulatory agencies and the state legislature. The only requirement for membership is an active involvement in the meat industry. There is no need to stand alone in a ever changing industry. 2008 State Fair Meat Product Contest

Each year the Wisconsin State Fair Meats Contest is conducted in association with the Wisconsin State Fair. Products are evaluated at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Meat Laboratory by trained judges. Winning exhibits are then transported to the WI State Fair, held for Wisconsin State Fair attendee viewing during the duration of the Fair, and auctioned off with proceeds benefiting WI youth.  Click Here for Entry Details

The USDA Food Safety & Inspection Service (FSIS) and the USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS) have produced the Predictive Microbiology Information Portal (PMIP) to assist small and very small food companies in the use of Predictive Models and Food Microbiology information. Our vision is that the PMIP will be the most comprehensive website that brings together models, research data and other useful resources that assist small and very small processors in producing the safest foods.
